St. Maarten Calamansi

Product Release date:
June 2015

Notes:

Calamansi is called by many names, including kalamansi, Philippine lemon, Panama orange, Golden lime and Chinese orange. The calamansi is often considered to be the most important citrus juice source in the Philippines and also widely grown in India, throughout southern Asia and Malaysia.

Calamansi are harvested by clipping the stems off the tree while the fruit is dark green or as they mature to the colour of a tangerine orange. Skin on the fruit is so thin that pulling them from trees will tear the peal.

Peak harvest in the Philippines is from late August to October and the fruit is widely considered to have numerous health benefits including a high concentration of Vitamin C.

Calamansi (Philippine Lemon) tastes like a delicate blend of Mandarin Orange, Kumquat and Lime. Just in time for summer St. Maarten Calamansi will build on the increased limeade/lemonade segment.  This unique beverage brings a taste of the Philippines home.

Launching in June 2015 to coincide with the Dragon Boat Festival and Independence day (Philippines) St. Maarten Calamansi is available in two ready to drink formats; (i) 1.75L chilled carton and (ii) 473ml shelf stable glass bottles.

St. Maarten calamansi is a little sweet, a little tart and completely refreshing.
